What do you do when the one you're supposed to hate is the one you can't resist loving?

Saige Sinclair was the epitome of a young, beautiful, and wealthy woman with a bright future ahead. But for all her book smarts, her lack of street knowledge landed her in a dangerous situation she never saw coming. All Saige wanted was to protect her family, but now she finds herself the one in desperate need of protection—especially from a man she has every reason to despise.

Adrienne, her sister, was destined to marry Damson Kingston, the perfect son of the influential Rockland "Rocky" Kingston. Their union was more than a wedding; it was a business deal set in stone from the day Adrienne was born. But one night filled with secrets and betrayal brought everything crashing down. With an unplanned pregnancy and a hidden lover threatening the carefully crafted future their families had planned, tensions rise, and so do old wounds.

Then there's Qasim "Misfit" Kingston, a rebellious soul born from an affair and raised on the wild streets of Florida. Known for his ruthless ways and a taste for danger, Misfit lives by a single no attachments, no regrets. But when his grandfather's sudden death forces him to relocate to New York, he's thrust into a twisted family legacy filled with power struggles and secrets. Now, he's a wild card in a high-stakes game, unhinged and unpredictable—the type of Alpha man you know is no good for you but still makes your heart race.

Two sisters. Two brothers. A legacy filled with secrets that could tear their community apart. As they unravel the sins of their parents, they face a let the past destroy them, or find a way to rebuild from the ashes. Can love, in its rawest, most unorthodox form, save them? Or will the allure of a forbidden romance with a dangerously charming man prove too much to resist?

In the first installment of "Private Location With A Wealthy Kingpin" by Theresa Reese, prepare to dive into this unputdownable African American romance, where the streets of New York collide with the treacherous alleys of Florida. If you're a fan of second chance love stories, drama, hood romance, and rich thugs with unapologetic attitudes, this book is a must-read.

Must Read

These characters are a damn mess. There's so many secrets and Saige, Adrienne, Dansom, and Qasim are suffering behind the sins of each of their parents. I had a feeling that when Rocky was cheating on Denise with Isabella. It was going to come back and haunt him and year's late it did. With Rocky father Wayne on his death bed. Wayne felt it was crucial to bring another family in before he passed away. Qasim stepped in and shook up their household with his cold disrespectful demeanor. With Adrienne and Saige mother passing away supposedly while giving birth to Saige. It seems like Don took it out on his daughter's that he was left to be a single father. What I didn't like was Don basically groomed his daughter's to be married off in exchange for alliance with other families. He was also very physically and verbally abusive to Adrienne and Saige. Adrienne being the first one up to for an arranged marriage didn't work out like Don thought. He was pissed that Adrienne was not only pregnant but in love with another man. I was digusted when Don told her to abort the baby. Saige refused to allow her sister to go through with the plans their father made and stepped up to the plate to marry Damson but Saige found out quickly that Damson wasn't the one she would marry. Qasim is. The way Don starting to disrespect Saige and Adrienne deceased mother all of a sudden seems sketchy. I wonder if it's some truth to what Isabella said about Don killing their mother. I like Saige fiery attitude and outspoken way's but there's a lot of hurt underneath. Qasim wasn't a likable person at first. I'm still on the fence about him. He's rude, disrespectful, and dgaf about nothing but somehow Saige started to melt his cold heart. I understand he's angry at Rocky and Denise because of how he was told they treated his mother before he was born but Isabella lied to Qasim. Rocky is pissed to learn before Wayne passed away. He gave the empire to Qaim. Wayne wasn't dumb he knew his son Rocky and grandson Damson would've runned his business to the ground. Damson is fit for that lifestyle anyway. However Rocky didn't have a clue Isabella was pregnant all those year's ago when he was forced to kick her out after he got caught cheating but Wayne found and tried to help Isabella but she refused. Denise sitting on a pedestal calling Isabella a homewrecker when Rocky is the one who wrecked their home. He cheated throughout their whole marriage and she knew about it because he didn't hide it. I also believe Denise knew Rocky was in love with Isabella back then too. Denise ain't innocent either. After all that drama kicked off at the house. Some of her secrets were revealed and sadly Damson was a casualty of one of her secrets.

DNF.

I made it to Chapter 10 before deciding to stop reading. I generally don't enjoy multi-POV stories; my limit is three perspectives, and this book includes chapters from every character. It would have been better if the book were split into two parts: one focusing on the first-generation characters and the other on the second generation. Having every character narrate their own chapter was distracting and detracted from the overall plot. Instead of developing a cohesive story, I felt overwhelmed by trying to keep up with everyone’s drama.

There was a lot of drama, which might appeal to some readers, but I struggled with the overlapping and intersecting layers, especially since we had to view it from every possible angle. Damson appeared naïve, particularly given the business his family is involved in. Saige was inconsistent, shifting from tough to timid without much explanation. Adrienne was both a coward and inconsistent, being upset over Saige connecting with her future husband while benefiting from the freedom Adrienne herself had imposed.

Misfit could have had potential, but he seemed too brash, overwhelmed, and scattered. He’s portrayed as the king of Miami, yet he arrives in New York without his affairs in order. He acts one way with Saige, claiming he isn't ready for monogamy, but then engages in sexual behavior with her just a few chapters in.

Overall, the author had a potentially great storyline, but because it was spread too thin across numerous characters, no one was well-developed. I didn’t find a single character that I liked or connected with. It was very messy and not well organized

Miss Reeseeeeeee! Girlllll! You wrote the hell out of this book! The secrets that lie between the wealthy is enough to send any one crazy! Qasim aka Misfit actually fits right in and is needed for such a time as this! Man if Wayne only know what would take place! It's crazy because the one they trained all their lives isn't even a Kingston! Whew challe! Too much drama! Don done lost his mind and from his actions, I most believe he did kill Renee like Isabelle is claiming. I could be wrong but babyyyy it really feels like Burna on something else with Chy and if he hadn't taken notice, Misfit is NOT in his right frame of mind! He's dropping bodies left and right and rightfully so! It's crazy how Adrienne done thought she had her happily ever after and Jason isn't any better than the other men in their community! Whew challe! I really had hoped Saige's sacrifices for Adrienne wouldn't have been in vain, but it looks like Jason those used her as a pawn! Isabelle can't choose a good man for shit man! Like sis, get your life together! She sent Qasim barking up that tree now he isn't anywhere to be found along with his wife! Ohhh, but something tells me they are both together on that boat or whatever they are on! Ready for part 2! Mayhem in New York City and I'm here for it!

Boy oh boy Rocky and Denise the secrets. Grandpa Wayne knew exactly what he was doing when he put the true heir in place to run his empire after his death, but before his grandson Misfit could truly take over he needed to clean house, and wow the secrets that's coming out. Now Misfit started to feel things for his new wife they shared a connection and I hope whatever his mother tried to put in her head doesn't work because when he took her outside to speak to her and they look they shared showed his mother that she was wrong and her son did have feelings for her, but he not only had to clean his grandpa house he needed to clean the snakes from his crew as well, I think Burner and Che may have something going on.

I didnt like it

Wow, the storyline was really good. I feel like there was too much drama a lot of unresolved and miscommunication going on in the book. Nothing got solved in the first book, but it was really long. It’s like Sage has a lot going on. Her sister has a lot going on there’s a lot going on with the dad. There’s a lot going on with the other family and there were just no answers. I don’t like reading books when I have to continuously wait for book 2 and three to get at least a sliver of an answer it doesn’t make it very entertaining. However, the plot of the book is really dope and I wish it was just executed more well.

Family drama! The secrets and lies! This book gives twist, turns, and then some. Arranged marriages aren’t of the past. To form alliances and gain power, weddings are arranged between families even today. There is rich, and then there is wealthy. This status is only achieved by some; not all are allowed to enter. And if you enter, you immediately become engulfed in mayhem.

Quasim and Sage create their own love story. It took some time for me to like Quasim. He is rude, brash, and ghetto. Sage suffers from childhood drama. And the parents have so many secrets you almost need a chart to put some of this into perspective.

Overall, it was a good read. Thoroughly enjoyed the drama!

Why Do Folk Think The Old Way Is The Only Way

Theresa Reese, oh my lord, when I say this crew right here is certainly fit for
the insane asylum. I really feel so bad for Adrienne, Saige, Samson and Qasim. It just seems when your life has been hand picked for you then skeletons are coming out the woodwork. Danger is everywhere, secrets and lies are coming out and how is this gonna play out? Where is Qasim? Who has the balls to do what's been done? I can't wait to see what happens next🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗good read

FYE AZZ READ

I think this is gonna be my favorite series by Theresa Reese. I loved everything about it from the start. Qasim had me in a chokehold as soon as he walked in the room and opened his mouth. I like Saige also. This book is full of drama and secrets. I gifts feeling I know who snatched Saige up but imma keep it to myself cause Theresa Reese will throw a curve in a minute that will have yo edges thinning. I can't wait to see how this all plays out. I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.😍😍

I finished this book. However, it was just too much going on all at once that you couldn’t focus on one thing. Too many points of views. Nothing made sense. Then you’re left with a cliffhanger with nothing to go on, if that makes sense. I got to the end and was immediately pissed off trying to figure out what I just read. Even with a cliffhanger you are given a little clarity of what’s coming. You’re given a aha moment or the story will get so good it leaves you in suspense. I didn’t get that with this book and I really wanted to love it.

What a way to depart & and make an entrance!

Qasim "Misfit" Kingston is anything but what his nickname deems him to be. However, I believe he is definitely the storm and tide his late Papa Wayne knew he'd be. With good looks and street persona, he's disrupted the lives of those who never knew he existed with just his presence and sharp tongue. This book will not disappoint you, full of drama, twist turns, and family secrets. Buckle up and enjoy the read. Cliffhanger ending, so book 2 me now, please!

Lots of secrets but love has come

Great read, very interesting from beginning to end. Sage and Misfet are definitely for each other and they will tame the families they both represent. Now there’s some secrets and a whole lot of tea in this book but who has kidnapped Sage? I can’t wait to read book 2

Family betrayals at its finest….

There are so many family secrets and betrayals in this book and we still haven’t scratched the surface of them all. I can’t wait until part 2 so I can see who was revealed in that cliffhanger.

CHAOS

This book is just all over the place. I could see if it was organized chaos but it’s not. There isn’t a shred of cohesiveness throughout the whole book. I’m to stick it out but this book is close to being put on my DNF list. 🤦🏽‍♀️

FAMILIES FULL OF SECRETS!
This story is full of drama. This is definitely a page turner. Saige thought she was helping her sister who is pregnant from an arranged marriage situation only to feel like she doesn’t even know her family or the person she has agreed to marry. Misfit is a force to be reckoned with and he don’t care about the rules the family was previously going by.. He has created his own. I hope Misfit and Saige can get it together and actually work as a team. I sure hope Misfit is nicer to Saige too. Saige could follow directions a lil better also.
